Telling Nature’s Stories

Bearly Alike What is it like to be a wildlife filmmaker? We take students on a fun, interactive journey that emphasizes how we:

  • Focus on the details of nature
  • Gather information with our senses
  • Express observations creatively to make stories

And we base it around our short film about grizzly bears. Bearly Alike is a quirky movie that parallels a day in the life of brown bears with a day in the life of a young man named George (played by Robert). Students will see video clips, practice finding camouflaged animals, choose animal voices, hear live music, practice doing sound effects and more.

  • Develop an awareness and sensitivity to the natural world.
  • Explore works of different authors, speakers and illustrators to determine how they present ideas and feelings to evoke different responses.
