Journey For My Family's Heirloom
Journey For My Family's Heirloom, by Alexandrea Harriott, Grade 4
Hi. I am a pirate looking for my family's heirloom. My family's heirloom is an old necklace that belonged to my great grandmother and handed down for generations. The necklace has a circular locket with a silver chain. I did not know I had lost it until I was climbing the mountains, and slapped a bug off my neck and realized tha my necklace was missing. I must have dropped somewhere between the waters and land.
I searched the mountain trail but could not find it. So I decided to travel the Pacific for my family's heirloom. When I was on my journey to find my family's heirloom, I spotted a shiny item at the bottom of the sea. Even though I knew there were sharks in the water, I still dove in to find my family's heirloom. When I got to the bottom it was a key that someone else had lost. I had to continue searching for my family's heirloom.
Soon I stopped at an island for the night. When I woke up, I spotted a circular shaped item half buried in teh sand. I started to dig but i was only a gold chain with no locket. I spent the rest of the day looking for my great grandmother's necklace on the island but had no luck. It was getting dark so I lay in the boat to sleep.
The next day I sailed further along the coast to another island. I discovered that it was the same place where I had to fight off some other pirates from another ship. I was still tired so I had to drag myself up the sand to the shore. As soon as I sat down on the sand there was a shiny necklace with a circular locket and a silver chain. It was mine. I was so happy that I found my family's heirloom. Now I will be able to hand it down to one of my children.
