Frequently Asked Questions
Your business is called Sisbro for sister/brother. Why is it called Sisbro and not Brosis?
Because Sisbro sounds better. Brosis sounds like a disease. Example: “I have a brosis on my neck that I need to have removed.”
How is your business unique?
We have training in zoology, environmental education and communication. We also have experience writing comedy skits. We believe this blend of our talents and passions is unique – plus, who has heard of a sister and brother working together?
You are sister and brother. Do you get along? Who’s older?
We usually get along. We settle most arguments with a pie-eating contest. Regardless of who wins, by the time we finish baking and eating all those pies, we’re too tired to remember what we were arguing about. And Laura is older by 2½ years.
How are you related to the authors of the books Stranger in the Woods, Lost in the Woods and First Snow in the Woods?
Carl Sams and Jean Stoick are our cousins. Actually, Carl is our dad’s first cousin, technically making us first cousins once removed.
What is your ultimate dream?
To help people appreciate the wonders of nature. Also, Laura and Robert would like to make sure people know they are siblings and not married to each other.
Who has influenced your work?
We learned a lot from our cousins, wildlife photographers Carl R. Sams II and Jean Stoick. They helped us learn to look for vivid detail and unique compositions. We admire the way Bill Nye the Science Guy was able to blend education and entertainment. We also admire the original muppet and Sesame Street skits, with Jim Henson’s blend of good-natured humor. And of course, our parents helped encourage us to be creative and work hard.
I’m a parent, and you just visited my child’s school. How do I buy things?
We sent an order form home with your child. You can fill out that form. Then return the form with payment to the school. We will send the products to your child at the school, with all the other products ordered by students. Each school sets its own deadlines for the forms. If you miss the deadline, just call or email us directly.
How many teeth does Robert have?
24 – You have no idea how many times people think he has 28.
